Task Force Co-Chair Joaquim Chissano, former President of Mozambique, and Task Force Member Bience Gawanas, advisor to the Minister of Health of Namibia and former Commissioner for Social Affairs of the African Union, discuss how fulfilling sexual and reproductive health and rights is critical for individual wellbeing and the development of communities and nations in Africa. The event was hosted by the Government of South Africa and UNFPA on the occasion of the UN General Assembly Special Session on the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD). South Africa’s Ambassador to the United Nations and Minister of Social Development, and the Executive Director, are also on the panel.
